On February 1, 2019, Chesapeake Energy Corporation (Chesapeake) completed its merger with WildHorse Resource Development Corporation (WildHorse). As such, your lease agreement with WildHorse will be administered by Chesapeake on a going forward basis.
While the terms of your lease will not change due to the merger, we recognize that during this transition period, you may have questions regarding your lease and/or royalty payments. Chesapeake has established a dedicated phone line and email address for WildHorse landowners. The dedicated phone line is (877) 245-1427 and is staffed with Chesapeake Owner Relations personnel Monday - Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 11:20 a.m. & 12:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Central time. - Q: Prior to the merger, I submitted documentation regarding my account. How can I check to confirm it was processed?
A: Chesapeake is currently working through the owner issue logs inherited by WildHorse. To check on the status of your request, please contact our Owner Relations by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
- Q: Who will be issuing my 2018 1099 form?
A: If you received revenue from WildHorse Resources in 2018, a 1099 will be mailed no later than January 31, 2019. If you do not receive a 1099 by February 15, please contact our CHK Owner Relations team to request one.
